ABOUT

GRAMMY Award Winning  Engineer/Mixer/Producer and Writer based in New York City.

As a young child in Caracas, Venezuela, Fernando Lodeiro always wanted to play the guitar. Being the only real musician at heart, it wasn’t until the age of 14 that he finally got the guitar he longed for. Fernando was self-taught, and began playing in bars around the city with musicians sometimes twice his age by the time he was 15. After graduating with honors from high school at the age of 16, Fernando moved to Mexico City to study in the “Academia de Música Fermatta”. It was the first time that Fernando studied guitar and music formally. After one semester, he auditioned for Berklee College of Music and got a scholarship, however, even with the scholarship the college was still too expensive. It was not until one year later, when he auditioned once again, that The World Scholarship Tour was able to grant him a larger scholarship. Along with the World Scholarship, Fernando received a full scholarship from SGAE (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores), the Berklee International Network Augmentation Scholarship, and funding from a private organization that permitted him to attend Berklee College of Music where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Music Production and Engineering in August of 2007.

At the end of October 2007, Fernando moved to New York City and a couple of weeks after he started working at “Avatar Studios” (now back to its original name "Power Station"), which is catalogued as one of the best 10 recording studios in the world. Since then, Fernando has worked with many great artists such as Paul McCartney, Esperanza Spalding (with whom he won his first GRAMMY Award), Prince, Vampire Weekend, Lady Gaga, Arctic Monkeys, Lauryn Hill, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Satellite Stories, Marcicans, Ben Folds, Olly Murs, Mary J Blige, Christian McBride, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, and many others including Broadway Musicals and many Film Scores.

Fernando has also worked as the front of house engineer touring all over the world with several acclaimed artists.

Currently Fernando spends most of his time producing, recording and mixing with many bands as well as writing with different artists.
